How to process hexagonal inner holes on machined parts?
Release time: 27-05-2024

For the hexagonal inner hole on the wrench, there are mature processing methods for production: generally forging production is used. However, due to accuracy and quantity issues, some parts cannot be produced through forging. So mechanical processing suppliers also have some other production methods. We will introduce them to you through an example:

The general process is as follows:

1: For small hexagons, if the material is not too hard (after processing and heat treatment), parts can be machined using a hexagonal punch made of tool steel (pre drilled)

2: Electric discharge machining: First, make carbon crystals into hexagonal shapes, and then process them on an electric discharge machine.

3. For large parts, they can be machined on a slotting machine

4. Wire cutting: High precision, but low efficiency.

5. Lathe: Planetary wheel hexagonal lathe machining (requires pre drilling)
